Micheál Ó Dubhghaill

Micheál Ó Dubhghaill Micheál is originally from Indreabhán in Co. Galway. He has been living in Limerick for the past ten years where he worked as a primary school teacher. He established the educational drama company Dréimire in Limerick which provides drama workshops for school children.

 

Micheál has participated in a number of plays and television progammes since taking a career-break two years ago. He has toured three times with Fíbín – twice with An Triail and once with Stair Iomlán na hÉireann... (cineál). He has done pantomimes every Christmas for the past five years in the University Concert Hall in Limerick.

 

He has also starred in musicals: he played Captain Ahab in Moby Dick the Musical, he was Sonny LaTieri in Grease, he acted the part of Marius in Les Miserables and took on the role of Macheath in Threepenny Opera (Barespace) He has also worked on cartoons, as both an actor and director.

 

He was involved in cartoons such as Sesame Street and South Park. His recent stage work includes playing the part of Mick Treacy in the play Stolen Child and he appeared as Johnny Pheaitín Mhaidhc in Cripil Inis Meáin. He also appeared in the television programmes Rásaí na Gaillimhe, Ros na Rún, Síol and Na Cloigne
